Artist Wendy Dixon (fka/Wendy Eisenberg) was born in London, England, and grew up in India, Pakistan and South Africa. Her early years were spent in India, where her father worked as a British government official. Historical events however soon intervened and, with the advent of World War II, the family was forced to move frequently.

At a very young age, Dixon discovered that she loved to draw, inspired by stories her father would tell and illustrate. Pursuing this love, she studied art in England, the United States, South Africa, and India, and she taught art in La Paz, Bolivia. In 1991, she became a U.S. citizen, and today lives and works on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
